You are considering the Buy it Now purchase of a used Super-Takumar 50mm 1:1.4 screw mount (M42) lens. This is a legendary Takumar prime lens made by Asahi Optical Company and known for its sharpness and highly regarded for its bokeh. The lens is of all metal construction and a pleasure to use for manual focusing.
The lens is in very nice condition. The glass is free of hazes, scratches or fungus. There are a few dust particles inside the lens typical of an old lens like this. The focusing ring rotates nicely and is well damped for manual focusing. The aperture blades are snappy as well. You can use this lens in manual mode on the latest Pentax DSLRS like the K-7, K-x and K-m using a suitable M42-to-K-mount adaptor. On the DSLRs, this lens will act as a 75mm equivalent of 35mm film due to the1.5x FOV crop factor. It also has the auto-to-manual switch that is needed for stop down metering on modern DSLRs.
The lens is also is superb in greater-than-life-size macro photography when used with a reversing ring. Try it!
