Hi. My name is Kaushik Mallick. K-Mount Treasures is run by me with some help from my wife and occasionally from my two young daughters. I have been selling PENTAX cameras and lenses on Ebay for over 3 years. I decided to create k-mount.com as a stand alone website to better serve my clients. As you can see, k-mount.com specializes in used PENTAX cameras, K-Mount or bayonet mount lenses, PENTAX universal screw-mount (M42) lenses and various camera accessories. My goal is to provide you with courteous, expedient, professional service of the highest caliber.
Over the time, I have become fascinated with the PENTAX lovers and their natural love of putting photography over the gear. I have also come to appreciate their stoic acceptance of being treated as inferior for not following the camp of Canon or Nikon. PENTAX lovers are a different breed; they know the value of investment in a good camera system, appreciate the unique heritage and backward compatibility of SMC lenses, enjoy photography for the fun and passion and have the confidence that PENTAX (ok, HOYA PENTAX now) is going to listen and deliver their promise (as they have done with K10D).
A little bit of my background is in order. I am a mechanical engineer by profession. I have been using PENTAX 35mm cameras since I got started in the hobby of photography during my 20s. I learnt the basics with K1000 (I am glad I did) and then moved on to Super Program (what a beautiful camera!). I lost touch with photography for sometime in the middle of my professional career. The passion was re-kindled when I purchased the *ist DS, the digital SLR. Since then I have succumbed to the LBA or Lens Buying Addiction like many other PENTAX lovers. I have quite a big collection of PENTAX lenses as well as the old Takumar lenses. I have also collected the entire line-up of the PENTAX camera bodies. My most precious possesion of course is a LX, which I think is one of the best cameras ever made, period. Although I shoot mostly with the *ist D and K100D these days, I never run out of the enthusiasm to take the LX out for a spin once in a while. Looking through the viewfinder of PENTAX oldies is a treat, especially when it comes to the LX.
